Great to meet you!

I am passionate about helping individuals and couples who are ready to better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and create meaningful, lasting change. My areas of focus include addiction, sexual health, spiritual concerns, relationship dynamics, healthy boundaries, and personal growth. I particularly enjoy working with people who are curious about why they think, feel, and behave the way they do and are motivated to explore what they can do differently.

As a licensed mental health counselor with a background in Christian counseling, I offer an integrative approach that respects your individual values, beliefs, and experiences. I am EMDR-trained and currently pursuing specialized training through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). My previous experience as a certified massage therapist also gives me a unique perspective on the mind-body connection and its role in emotional well-being.

I believe that our past experiences, relationships, spiritual beliefs, and physical responses all contribute to how we experience the world. Understanding these connections can help us break unhealthy patterns, establish meaningful boundaries, and make decisions that better reflect our values.

Ultimately, I'm passionate about helping people move beyond simply managing life's challenges toward understanding themselves, developing meaningful connections, and building lives they genuinely enjoy living.

My approach to therapy

If you're looking for someone who will listen compassionately while also challenging you to grow, we might be a great fit!

My counseling style is warm, direct, collaborative, and sprinkled with a healthy dose of humor. I believe laughter has a place in healing, but I also recognize that meaningful growth sometimes requires uncomfortable conversations, honest self-reflection, and a willingness to challenge our own beliefs and behaviors.

I'm not a therapist who simply sits back and listens. I'll ask thought-provoking questions, offer different perspectives, and encourage you to recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I'll also celebrate your progress, recognize your strengths, and meet you with compassion when life gets messy.

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I draw from evidence-based techniques, EMDR, mind-body approaches, and spiritual integration when appropriate. Together, we'll explore the connections between your thoughts, emotions, physical responses, past experiences, and relationships.

I value working with clients who are willing to participate in their own growth. You don't need to have all the answers or know exactly where to begin. You simply need to be open to exploring, reflecting, and trying something different.

My goal is to help you become your own greatest advocate. I want you to leave therapy with more than insight. I want you to develop the confidence, practical tools, and healthy boundaries to navigate life's challenges independently and create meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know each other and determining whether we're a good fit. I want to understand what brought you to counseling, what you've already tried, what matters most to you, and what you hope will be different in your life as a result of our work together.

You can expect a relaxed, welcoming environment where genuine conversation, curiosity, and a little humor are encouraged. We'll explore your experiences, identify your strengths, and begin discussing the challenges or patterns you'd like to address. There's no pressure to share everything immediately. Building trust takes time, and we'll work at a pace that respects your needs.

I believe therapy is a partnership, and our first session is an opportunity to establish what that partnership might look like. We'll discuss realistic goals, what you're willing to work toward, and how we can translate what you discover in therapy into your everyday life.

I won't expect perfection, and I recognize that change isn't always linear. What I do encourage is curiosity, honesty, and a willingness to participate in the process, even when things become uncomfortable.

My hope is that you leave our first session feeling heard, understood, and encouraged, with a clearer sense of where we're headed and what working together might accomplish.
