Great to meet you!

Sara has been a licensed therapist since 2019, and has worked in the mental health field for the last 8 years. She is a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College, and she holds a Master’s of Education in Counseling and Human Development Sara has been specially trained in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders through Postpartum Support International. She is trained in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy).

A bit about my approach to therapy

My foundation is based in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). I strive to help my clients develop and implement appropriate and effective coping skills for themselves. It’s also important to me that the client feel like they have a say in their treatment, and that they’re supported through the journey.

What you can expect from our first session

In your initial session, I will get a general background from you about the symptoms you've been experiencing, how long they've been present, and what kind of impact the symptoms have on your day to day life. We will discuss what you hope to get out of therapy, and how you know that you are ready to "complete" your therapeutic journey. I also like to take the time in that initial session to provide some education about mental health and treatment.
