Great to meet you!

I am a board certified Psychiatrist who treats depression, anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, ADHD, addiction, and life transitioning events . I also utilize solution focused therapy that is organically integrated with medication management. I have championed for patients who are part of the LGBTQIA as well as nonbinary patients. I have also spent many years advocating for my patients who struggle with severe mental illness and removing the stigma often attached. I want to provide a safe environment where someone feels comfortable discussing their challenges while we work together to optimize your health. It can be overwhelming to come for help in mental health and I want to ease any anxiety while helping. I strongly believe in addressing the entirety of my patient and not simply the "label."

My approach to therapy

The mind and the brain are unique and complicated. I think the best approach is to integrate how they are enjoined and the end result is feeling whole. I hesitate to use the word "normal" so essentially, to feel complete in your own skin. My approach is to utilize both medication and reframing of your inner dialog to one of healing and wholeness. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, mindfulness and emotion focused therapy. Different people need different methods and sometimes a combination of approaches.

What you can expect from me

You will likely find me very open minded and receptive to truly understanding your experience. I provide direct care to you and want to help you feel complete in yourself. You are not simply a list of symptoms and labels, you are unique in all the world and deserve to have a present healer to help you. Your initial evaluation will be an entire history including your development into the person you are now. Most importantly it is to determine if I can provide what you need and if not, to find someone who can. The therapeutic alliance is a combination of understanding the right medications, treatments and trust in your doctor. It is my hope that we can find that together.
