Great to meet you!

I was originally a high school English teacher and college professor. When I completely my first master's degree in English I started doing yoga which made me interested in healing. I then became a yoga teacher and decided to go back to school to become a mental health counselor. Now I continue to teach yoga and yoga teacher trainings while also being a mental health counselor. It is my passion to help people remember that healing mentally and physically is always possible inside and out.

My approach to therapy

I feel safety is the most important part of the therapeutic relationship. I begin by getting to know my clients well so that they feel safe to be themselves and open up; creating a genuine rapport. Though clients come with certain goals and issues, what I believe matters most is that we get along. Once we establish a trust and bond, I like to use parts work, somatic techniques and cognitive behavioral approaches in my work.

What you can expect from me

In our first session we will explore what brings you to therapy, and how I can work with you to explore your goals and issues. I will also reiterate that regardless of specific goals, the session is always centered on you and at any given moment, if anything new comes up that you may want to discuss, it is your time, and sanctuary to do so in a supportive environment. I will never force you to discuss what you are not ready to disclose or what you initially said you wanted to work on if you are not ready. I believe it is always your time and choice, and my work to support you in your growth.
