Great to meet you!

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Studies in 2008 and began working in addiction counseling in 2009. I have worked in a variety of settings including adult and juvenile criminal justice institutions, adult residential centers, and running an addiction recovery program in a homeless shelter for women and children. In 2018 I earned my Masters of Arts in Integrated Recovery and Co-Occurring Disorders and began working towards earning my independent LPC.

My approach to therapy

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor. I believe while I am an expert in my field, you are the expert of your life. I view counseling as an opportunity to walk side by side with my clients, and offer them support and skills while dealing with life challenges. I utilize techniques from Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

What you can expect from me

I take a person centered and solution focused approach. You may not have been responsible for the things that have happened in your life. You are responsible for how you respond to those things from this day forward! You have made the first step in seeking help and I would be honored to join you in your journey.
