Great to meet you!

I tell my kids, “I have a weird job where I get to help people with their feelings,” and that is completely true. While I started off as a pediatric trauma therapist, I now work primarily with adults dealing with trauma and chronic mental health in my out-patient practice. Honestly, there’s just not much difference between those populations when it comes to feelings! We just express them differently (sometimes). It has been a privilege to provide a space for my clients to work through difficult and vulnerable things. I hope that I can provide this for you as well.

If in-person isn't possible or is just to difficult, give telehealth a try. As a therapist who does both, I am ready to support you in the office or wherever you are. I promise that it won't be "just another Zoom call."

My approach to therapy

While your story is your own, my clients find comfort in having an experienced therapist support them in navigating the themes, feelings, and difficulties that are more common than they ever knew. It’s less lonely that way. I often use EMDR to help clients reprocess difficult or traumatic experiences, to find relief from symptoms, feelings, and thoughts about themselves, that have been troubling them recently or for years.

What you can expect from me

Looking for a therapist is vulnerable and brave, and those two characteristics make the difference. I am here to support you through the next steps. Yes, I will ask you to fill out paperwork to get started, but I can assure you that is the most homework I will ever give to you! Our first session will mostly focus on getting to know one another – for me to learn about you and your story and for you to get a feel for my style. More often than not, my clients find relief in the first session just from telling their story to someone who is willing to listen without judging them, but there is so much more to come!
