Great to meet you!

Sarah is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with more than 23 years of experience in the field of mental health. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas in 1999, followed by a Master of Education in Human Development Counseling from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2003.

Specializing in substance abuse treatment and severe mental illness, Sarah spent many years assisting in research at the Psychiatric Research Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. During her tenure, she contributed to five FDA clinical trials examining manualized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and parent training interventions for marijuana use in children and adolescents, as well as several clinical studies focused on pharmacological treatments for substance dependence and withdrawal.

Sarah’s professional background spans inpatient psychiatric care, residential substance abuse treatment, private practice, and work within nonprofit and government organizations.

My approach to therapy

In her clinical work, Sarah primarily integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused approaches to address anxiety, depression, grief, parenting challenges, and women’s issues. She takes a person-centered, holistic approach that reflects her own life experiences and her Christian faith. Sarah believes that every problem has a solution and strives to help her clients discover joy, resilience, and peace amid life’s challenges.
