Great to meet you!

I was born and raised in the Tallahassee area. I received both my graduates degree and undergrad degree from Florida State University. My background is mostly working with women and children. I have a particular passion for women's issues and childhood trauma treatment. My time in the field led me to adopt three wonderful children from foster care. I now enjoy time with the family, arts and crafts and walks with my three dogs.

My approach to therapy

I believe that each client is the true expert on their counseling journey. I believe in a strength based approach which means every client has a natural strength that can be used to improve upon any situation. My goal is to help clients identify and utilize the skills they already possess. Therapy approaches I often use to achieve this goal are EMDR, CBT, motivational interviewing, etc. I also have a passion for expressive therapies (art, poetry, play) and use them in my practice regularly.

What you can expect from me

I emphasize a judgement free clinical environment. As I often work with survivors of trauma, I begin by letting each client know there is no "wrong way" to survive. Clients can address any emotion or concern that comes to mind as no problem is "too big" or "too small" for my office. I will be there to listen with empathy, never look down with pity and join clients in their darkest moments to be a support to help them through.
