Great to meet you!
Hi, I’m Sarah Halligan, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) with a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Alabama and a B.A. in psychology from Sewanee: The University of the South. My professional experience spans community settings, senior services, and healthcare, and I specialize in supporting individuals of all ages, with a particular focus on life transitions, depression, anxiety, grief, caregiving stress, and chronic illness. I’ve worked with diverse populations, which has given me a deep understanding of the unique challenges people face at different stages of life.
In my practice, I take a warm, collaborative, and person-centered approach. I focus on building strong, trusting relationships with my clients, where they feel heard, valued, and supported. While I use evidence-based therapies, my goal is always to tailor my approach to meet each person’s unique needs and goals, ensuring that our work together is meaningful and effective.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my animals, doing crafts, and relaxing in a hammock with a good book. I believe in showing up as my authentic self in sessions and creating a space that’s both professional and deeply human—because healing happens best when we feel safe, connected, and understood.
