Great to meet you!

I work best with clients that might call themselves a "people pleaser" or believe it is their job to keep the peace. Difficulties with self worth oftentimes connects to these struggles and together we can work on how to use self compassion to combat the need for external validation to feel worthy. I work with clients on dismantling what it means to be "good" and instead focusing on your own values and goals and how to reach them.

My approach to therapy

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and am currently going through the process of EMDR certification. I worked in community mental health for 4.5 years with a diverse range of concerns, mental illness, and people and have been working in private practice since 2020.

What you can expect from me

By looking at both the past and the present, we work together to help you learn to make mistakes, let go of perfectionism, and engage in meaningful and reciprocal relationships. We will identify how to speak to yourself with compassion, no matter the circumstance, and separate your worth from what you can do for others. We'll work together to help you understand your values and the role they play in life decisions. You will learn how to effectively communicate your needs and set boundaries.
