Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Sarah, a Licensed Professional Counselor passionate about helping my clients heal from trauma, anxiety, OCD, depression, relationship challenges, and the lasting effects of difficult life experiences. I believe therapy should go beyond simply talking about problems by helping create meaningful change through addressing both the mind and the nervous system.

I specialize in evidence-based treatments including EMDR, Somatic Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), IFS-informed parts work, mindfulness, and cognitive and behavioral interventions. Whether you're working through childhood trauma, panic, intrusive thoughts, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck in survival mode, I'm here to support you with compassion and evidence-based care.

My approach to therapy

If you've been in therapy before and felt like you understood your problems but still found yourself reacting the same way, my approach may feel different. Understanding ourselves is important, but insight alone doesn't always change deeply ingrained patterns. Lasting change often happens when we learn to work with both the mind and the nervous system.

Many people come to therapy saying, "I know why I do this, but I still can't stop." That's because many of our reactions happen automatically before we've had a chance to think them through. My approach helps you understand those patterns, develop new ways of responding, and gradually reshape the nervous system's responses through repeated experiences of safety, flexibility, and practice. As we build those new patterns, we'll also work toward healing the experiences that contributed to them in the first place.

Some sessions focus on building practical skills, while others involve processing experiences that continue to affect your life today. I integrate approaches such as EMDR, somatic therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), IFS-informed parts work, mindfulness, and cognitive and behavioral interventions to support meaningful, lasting change. My goal is for you to leave therapy not only feeling heard, but with a deeper understanding of yourself and the confidence to navigate life's challenges differently.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is about understanding the whole picture, not rushing into solutions. We'll spend time exploring what has been happening, what you've already tried, and the patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I'll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your experiences while helping you begin making sense of them.

Together, we'll discuss your goals, identify areas of focus, and create a plan for treatment. Many clients leave their first session feeling relieved to have a better understanding of why they've been struggling and hopeful that meaningful change is possible.
