Great to meet you!

Hello, I am Sarah Hogan. I hold Master’s degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio and is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 16 years of experience in the behavioral health field. I am a certified provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy for Trauma and have extensive experience in counseling and case management with local mental health authorities, emergency homeless shelters, leading high-acuity response teams, and serving first responders and veterans. I also have extensive training in mindfulness-based therapies, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Along with my direct clinical practice, I have held several leadership roles focused on strengthening behavioral health systems of care within counties and across the state of Texas.

I am inspired by people who are willing to go above and beyond to help others. “When I see people bring kindness into the world, it’s contagious. It motivates me to cultivate that energy and spread it to others around me.”

A core part of my philosophy is rooted in my belief that people deserve the opportunity to heal in a safe, trauma-informed environment. I believe it is my duty to create those safe spaces for all people that I interact with.

My approach to therapy

I am nonjudgemental, warm, and validating in my approach. I operate through a trauma informed lens and understand that many of us have experienced trauma in our lives. I am flexible in my service delivery and really tailor my treatment to the individual need. I enjoy helping others that serve their community whether it be a first responder or a healthcare provider, my own experiences lend towards understanding the stressors that come with the helping profession. My goal is to help others problem solve and come to their own conclusions of how to improve their lives. The end goal being that the individual has a chance to heal and work towards a life worth living.

What you can expect from me

You can expect an approachable, warm connection in our first visit together. I will be curious to learn about you and your story. I will want to better understand what brings you to seeking therapy and create a plan with you to help you meet your goals.
