Great to meet you!

Hello! I am originally from NY, went to college in the Green Mountains of Vermont (Middlebury), then moved to the Sonoran desert and eventually got my MSW at Arizona State University. I worked for over 15 years in programs for children and families, got trained in the neurosequential model which focuses on the impact of trauma on brain development, which led to more learning about family systems, so I specialize in internal family systems, emotionally focused, and somatic approaches (certified in Vinyasa Flow Yoga), as well as have training in trauma bonding and toxic relationships. I think it's vital to have balance in life in order to find peace and joy. I love to be active- run, hike, yoga, gardening, and I also love to read. I am a huge dog lover and have a sweet, older Belgian Malinois who runs with me daily.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is eclectic, person centered, utilizing a variety of modalities which intend to shed light on the client's patterns and perhaps feeling of wanting change, feeling "stuck." I do not use a one-size fits all approach, as I believe therapy is a dynamic process, and there needs to be nuance with approach. I strive to create a welcoming environment for clients so they can relax and feel supported sharing the more vulnerable parts of themselves without judgment in order to gain access to lasting growth and change. I will be there to support, challenge, and encourage you along the way.

What you can expect from me

The first session is intended to give us an opportunity to get to know one another a bit, for us to begin to build rapport and trust. I want the client to feel like there is a possibility for growth alongside me, so this is why the first session is about gathering information, setting general goals, and identifying areas of need.
