Sarah Keener

Hello and welcome! I am a child therapist who cares deeply about the youth and families that I work with.

I have extensive experience working with children, teens, and families, which includes an internship at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a fellowship at Kaiser Permanente in the San Francisco area.

I have received specific and specialized training in working with youth who deal with anxiety, depression, self-harm behaviors, trauma, gender issues, and family/communication challenges.

As a child therapist, my approach is one of compassion, empathy, and humor. I place a high value on being non-judgmental and relating in an authentic way to the youth who I work with. Being a kid or a teenager is often challenging and confusing and I want them to know that I see them and hear them, no matter their situation.

At the initial appointment, we will discuss my diagnostic impressions and I will share my treatment recommendations. Parent/caregiver and family participation is incredibly important in the therapy journey for a child or teen and we will discuss how this can be incorporated into our work together. Clients and their families will set tangible and measurable goals and progress should be seen and felt within 1-2 months.
