Great to meet you!

We all have times in life where we feel stuck and the way we've always done things isn't working for us anymore. Sometimes those stuck points look like feeling irritated, numb, scared, sad, or not able to turn off our thoughts. I believe humor and joy are often useful to help shift perspective. My goal is for clients to learn how to live in the present so that they can engage more fully in their lives.

My approach to therapy

My therapy style is flexible, conversational, and often uses humor. I work to balance solution-focused interventions with client empowerment. I'm EMDR certified and use elements of cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, dialectical behavioral, and client empowerment therapies. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ folks, people working through life transitions, and clients who have experienced trauma.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to have a supportive space to be themselves. First sessions are often "get to know you" sessions where we chat about what's going on and how clients are feeling/functioning. Sessions feel like a real conversation with clinical info and suggestions peppered in. As therapy goes on, clients can expect to take away coping skills and personal insight.
