Great to meet you!

Be YOU with Sarah L'Heureux!

I am a qualified License Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist oriented to client-centered treatment that fosters empowerment, motivation and radical self-acceptance. I possess a Masters of Arts in Art Therapy and Counseling from the school of the Art Institute of Chicago and over 14 years of experience in counseling with specialties including MI, DBT, mindfulness, EFT, EMDR, CBT for trauma and anger, and art therapy modalities.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I believe the therapeutic process is a collaborative one that assists in bringing us to the door of awareness that allows us to create change in our lives through understanding how our identity, family of origin, cultural identity, and societal structures impact our lives, automatic reactions and relationships.

What you can expect from our first session

It is fundamental to my work that we are not a diagnosis but humans experiencing symptoms, symptoms that we can work through, and mitigate so that we can have a higher quality of life. Our symptoms can teach us about our boundaries, worthiness, limitations, thought patterns, attachment styles and how we relate to others and ourselves. This integral approach to therapy assists in facilitating a journey through symptoms to personal freedom. It takes courage to start this journey.
