I specialize in working with children and individuals into early adulthood for concerns related to anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral difficulties, emotional regulation, relationship difficulties, school concerns, and life transitions. I am a licensed clinical social worker and certified school social worker in Connecticut. I earned my master's degree in social work from Southern Connecticut State University in 2006 and completed the requirements for licensure in 2012.
I am well versed in many trauma-focused techniques including EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and believe that doing the hard work to address trauma can change the course of an individual's life. I have experience assessing and treating both children and young adults within a wide range of areas including emotional symptoms and significant psychiatric concerns, attention and executive functioning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, and learning challenges. My clinical training has afforded me the opportunity to develop a specialization in consultation for both educational services and social and emotional needs.
I help to create a space that is safe and affirming in order to support my clients in reprocessing traumatic memories and exploring coping strategies comfortably. I work with clients to develop meaningful goals and objectives specific to their needs.
