Great to meet you!

Have you ever felt stuck in the same thoughts, emotions, or patterns, even though you’ve tried everything to move forward? Maybe you’ve worked hard to heal and be present, but something still feels like it’s holding you back. If this sounds familiar, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

I’m Sarah Mixson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I’m passionate about helping older teens and adults find healing from trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and life’s many challenges.

My goal is to create a space where you can simply be yourself without fear of judgment or pressure to have all the answers. I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you with compassion, curiosity, and evidence-based tools that help you better understand yourself and move toward the life you want to live.

My approach to therapy

As a certified EMDR therapist, I help clients process painful experiences, so they no longer have to carry the same emotional weight. I also utilize CBT, motivational interviewing and acceptance and commitment interventions. Together, we’ll explore what’s keeping you stuck, build on your strengths, and work toward lasting healing by integrating your trauma story so you no longer feel stuck in the past.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another. You’ll have the opportunity to share your story and what you hope to achieve in therapy. It's completely okay if you don't know exactly what your goals are. Together, we'll explore what's important to you, and develop goals that feel meaningful and achievable over time. My hope is that you'll leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and confident that you're not navigating life's challenges alone.
