Great to meet you!

Welcome! Hi, I'm Dr. Sarah Muñoz (she/her). I have a PhD in Counseling Psychology and have experience working in college counseling centers and private practice. These experiences have shaped my commitment to meeting clients where they are and providing thoughtful, individualized care that honors their unique experiences, strengths, and goals. I create a therapeutic space where clients feel seen, valued, and supported. I believe healing happens through trust, collaboration, and cultural responsiveness. I focus on concerns related to trauma, religious and spiritual concerns, substance misuse, anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, suicidal ideation, and identity exploration.

My approach to therapy

My approach is rooted in social justice, trauma-informed care, and inclusivity, honoring all identities—including race, culture, gender, sexuality, and spirituality. Whether you're navigating trauma, questioning beliefs, working through relationship concerns, or seeking deeper self-understanding, I'm here to provide a nonjudgmental and empowering space for growth. I use an eclectic style that integrates ACT, IPT, and IFS into therapy. I am also trained in EMDR.

I specialize in working with college students and adults in individual therapy, as well as couples therapy. In my work with individuals, In couples therapy, I support partners in strengthening communication, navigating conflict, deepening connection, and developing a greater understanding of themselves and one another.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming, collaborative, and judgment-free space to begin getting to know one another. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re hoping to work on, and what you would like to get out of the therapeutic process. I’ll also ask questions about your background, current experiences, relationships, and strengths so I can better understand the context of what you’re navigating.

I recognize that starting therapy can feel vulnerable, so there is no expectation that you have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and you’ll have space to ask questions and get a sense of whether we’re a good fit. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, respected, and supported, with a clearer sense of what our work together might look like.
