Great to meet you!

Therapy with me is a space where you don’t have to have everything figured out before you show up. You can come in overwhelmed, burnt out, unsure of what you’re feeling, or knowing exactly what you want to work on.

I especially enjoy working with adults navigating trauma, religious trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD/neurodivergence, burnout, self-esteem, and major life transitions. I tend to work well with people who are self-aware but still feel stuck. Maybe you understand why you feel the way you do, but knowing the reason hasn’t necessarily made it easier to change.

My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I’ll meet you with compassion, but I’m also not a therapist who will simply nod for an hour. When it’s helpful, I’ll ask questions, point out patterns, offer another perspective, and help you figure out what actually feels realistic for your life.

My approach to therapy

I don’t believe therapy should look exactly the same for every person. My approach is trauma-informed, LGBTQIA+ affirming, collaborative, and flexible based on what you need.

Sometimes our work may involve exploring past experiences and understanding how they continue to affect you today. Other times, we may focus more on what is happening right now, building coping skills, setting boundaries, changing patterns, or figuring out how to make life feel more manageable.

I pull from evidence-based approaches while keeping therapy practical and human. I value curiosity over judgment and believe you are the expert on your own experiences. My role is to help you understand yourself more deeply, make connections you may not have noticed before, and build tools that actually fit you rather than forcing you into a one-size-fits-all version of healing.

What you can expect from me

The first session is mostly about getting to know each other and making sure therapy with me feels like a good fit.

We’ll talk about what brought you in, what has been going on lately, and what you would like to be different. I may also ask about some of your history, relationships, supports, and previous experiences with therapy, but you won’t be expected to tell me your entire life story in one hour.

You also don’t need to come in with perfectly worded goals. If all you know is, “I’m exhausted and something needs to change,” we can start there.

By the end of the session, we’ll have a better idea of what you want from therapy and where we might begin. Most importantly, I want you to leave feeling like you were talking to another human being. I never want therapy to feel like an interrogation or trial.
