Great to meet you!

I love working with people on making changes in their lives because I've done my own work and I'm a big believer that anyone can change who wants it and gets enough of the right kind of support.

I've spent over 20 years working in treatment facilities for eating disorders and addictions though much of my work has been focused on the underlying issues of anxiety, depression, culturally learned food and body issues, and relational problems.

My approach to therapy

In general I want to get to know the patterns that have arisen in your life and help you decide what works and what you'd like to develop or change. I practice a compassionate, but realistic view and empower you to take steps towards getting your unmet needs fulfilled. This will likely include a focus on both internal resources, like cues from your own body responses, as well as external resources like developing a positive social support system you can rely on.

What you can expect from me

In our first session we'll focus on getting to know one another, establishing trust and deciding what your goals are for therapy. These will be flexible and adjust according to circumstances in your life and our progress in working together. My main goal at first is giving you a sense of hope for your own life.
