Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a passion for helping individuals and families improve their overall well-being through a whole-person approach to care. I earned a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with an Advanced Trauma Concentration from Bay Path University, a Bachelor of Science in Speech and Language Pathology Assisting from Elms College, and an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Holyoke Community College.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I spent 13 years working in Early Intervention as a Developmental Specialist and Community Outreach Coordinator. During that time, I specialized in the SCERTS Model, a comprehensive educational approach designed to support children with autism and their families. This experience provided me with a strong foundation in child development, neurodiversity, family systems, and strengths-based care.

Today, I specialize in integrated behavioral health, a collaborative healthcare approach that combines mental and physical health services to support the whole person. Working alongside primary care physicians, I provide short-term behavioral health treatment to pediatric and adult patients, including individuals with special needs.

Advocacy has always been central to my work. My personal experiences, including having a mother with a learning disability, have shaped my commitment to supporting individuals of all abilities and helping clients recognize their strengths. I believe that education about mental health is empowering, and I strive to provide clients with the knowledge, tools, and support they need to make informed decisions about their care.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, client-centered, and individualized. I believe that clients are the experts on their own lives and should remain in the driver's seat throughout the therapeutic process. My role is to provide guidance, support, education, and evidence-based tools while helping clients identify and achieve goals that are meaningful to them.

I utilize an integrative approach to treatment, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities based on each client's unique needs, strengths, and circumstances. I work from a trauma-informed lens and incorporate techniques that help clients build coping skills, improve emotional regulation, increase self-awareness, and strengthen resilience.

Because of my background in integrated behavioral health, I also recognize the important connection between physical and mental health. I help clients explore how medical conditions, stress, lifestyle factors, relationships, and emotional well-being interact and influence overall functioning.

Above all, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. Clients can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where they are encouraged to share their concerns, experiences, and goals at their own pace.

During our initial meeting, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, review relevant personal, medical, and emotional history, and identify the challenges you would like to address. We will also explore your strengths, supports, and goals so that we can begin developing a plan that feels meaningful and achievable for you.

I understand that starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and I strive to make the process as comfortable as possible. I encourage questions and want clients to feel informed about what therapy involves and how we will work together. By the end of the session, you can expect to have a clearer understanding of the therapeutic process and the next steps toward achieving your goals.
