Great to meet you!

It is very important to me to create a safe place for my clients. I like to get to know them well to learn what drew them to therapy and how we can best make a plan for them to feel like they are making progress toward improving relationships, self-care, work, or whatever brought them in. I like to celebrate wins with my clients and figure out together how we can reach the goals they want.

My approach to therapy

I want my clients to feel comfortable, so that will be a top priority for our work together. After I find out what your goals are for therapy, we will work together to figure out a way that will work for you to meet those goals. I do believe there are always reasons for the patterns and behaviors we develop that don't serve us, so I like to get to the bottom of how those patterns developed so we can learn a new approach. I use a variety of tools depending on what you feel would be most helpful. We can use traditional talk therapy, EMDR, or a holistic somatic approach.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will be mostly geared toward getting to know you. I will have some background questions for you and will ask what your goals are for therapy. It's usually a pretty smooth process, and clients who come in nervous usually report feeling more comfortable at the end.
