Great to meet you!

I am Sarah and I have been practicing therapy for a number of years. I have learned over that time that clients need to feel heard, understood, and empowered to make the changes in their lives that will give them relief. I love to see clients make realizations and create new patterns of thought that create a life that is fulfilling. The shift from just getting through to actually enjoying life is not easy, but so worth it.

My approach to therapy

I believe in a collaborative approach that utilizes my training to find the best resources and strategies for each individual. Allowing for time to process and understand the experience of emotions allows for appropriate management of reactions, putting my clients back in the driver's seat of their lives. I utilize a mix of interventions, including DBT and CBT, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based therapy based on each client's needs and response to these interventions.

What you can expect from me

You can expect to feel shifts in how you talk to yourself, how you balance your life and cope with stressors, and how you manage response to your emotions as therapy progresses. Typically goals for the first month or so is to explore barriers to positive feelings and triggers for negative. We will quickly start to implement shifts in coping skills and thought patterns, and most clients start to see shifts after a few months of therapy.
