Great to meet you!

I specialize in treating clients dealing with eating disorders and body image distress. I’ve spent years working in inpatient, residential, PHP and IOP treatment for eating disorders. In that role, I’ve also worked with clients facing anxiety, mood disorders, relationship challenges, and identity. I particularly love working with clients exploring gender identity and sexuality, and how that intersects with their relationship with their bodies.

My approach to therapy

I am psychodynamically trained, which means that I enjoy working to understand and change the patterns that have shaped you and the ones you might be trapped in. I am also systems oriented, which means I consider how larger systems impact us, such as our class, race, gender, sexuality, family system, and even the current sociocultural moment. Practically, I also bring in tools from CBT and DBT, if they are helpful and welcome.

What you can expect from me

I am typically a pretty casual and laid back therapist - I enjoy bringing laughter and lightheartedness into therapy. I love giving my clients practical, experiential “dares” as homework, with gentle challenge to change behaviors or explore new ways to approach their problems. I also love exploring deeply with my clients - I view therapy as being on a journey alongside my clients. I consider my role to help provide tools to help you get where you’re going, but you decide the path.
