Great to meet you!

I am in a solo private practice in Portland, Maine where I see most of my clients in person but also provide telehealth appointments. I view seeking counseling as a sign of hope. I strive to create a compassionate, grounded, and non-judgmental collaboration with you to facilitate change and help you move forward in a meaningful way. Let's tap into your strengths to get the most out of our sessions, making space for new insights and skills, and improving communication. My expertise includes helping people heal from past hurts and traumas, navigating life transitions, relationships (family, intimacy, parenting), depression, anxiety, stress reduction, conflict resolution, and grief/loss. I enjoy working with individuals who are committed to growth.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My clients have diverse symptoms, backgrounds, and experiences. Life is hard, and many of life’s difficulties and why people seek treatment are varied. It’s ok to seek help just for having a hard time navigating life, feeling stuck and wanting a reset. You will see that I am kind, open, direct, insightful, and nonjudgmental.

My approach is always client-centered and strengths-based. While I use evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral techniques (CBT), motivational interviewing, and EMDR, each session is tailored to you. I want you to feel encouraged, empowered, and informed when making decisions about how you invest your time and money for your mental health.

What you can expect from our first session

My clients can expect to begin a collaboration with me that leads to reduction in problematic symptoms, adjustment of maladaptive patterns or coping skills, improved self confidence and communication skills and knowledge of tools and resources to help themselves long after we finish working together.
