Great to meet you!

I am a licensed clinical social worker in Virginia with over 39 years of experience working in both community and university outpatient mental health settings. I have provided services to clients with a broad range of concerns and have clinically supervised graduate interns. My practice focuses on supporting adults with anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma, emphasizing the value of meaningful connections for healing and personal growth

My approach to therapy

I believe everyone has a unique life story that has shaped who they are today. People often want to understand themselves and share their insights with others. Many people face Internal struggles with fear, shame, and doubt that can block us from knowing ourselves and connecting with another person. My approach is centered on empathy, attunement, collaboration, and respect for each person's unique journey. I believe that healing begins when we come to know ourselves and feel truly heard, seen, and understood. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your challenges without fear of judgment. My practice style is integrative, drawing on evidence-based modalities such as supportive and insight-oriented therapies, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and mindfulness techniques. Together, we assess your situation and set personal goals. I tailor interventions to fit your values, needs, and objectives, while supporting your resilience and overall well-being.
