Great to meet you!

Hi, I love helping my clients better understand their why so they find their most authentic self.

I’ve been in clinical practice since starting my graduate internship in 2012. Since then, I’ve worked with foster children, teens with psychotic diagnosis, veterans, active duty soldiers, women with infertility, couples and families, adoption issues, reunification, animal assisted techniques, and helping clients transition away from fundamental religious groups.

I have a Master’s of Science degree from Walden University in Mental Health Counseling. As a former Army wife, a mother of special needs children, with a history of infertility

My approach to therapy

I like to spend the first and sometimes the second session getting to know my client’s goals and personality traits before the real therapy begins. I expect my client’s to ask me any questions they have about my treatment approach to make sure we are a great match. I tend to approach treatment eclectically, meaning I take methods from multiple modalities to design a customized approach for each client. I want the client as involved as possible in choosing what treatment approach feels most effective for them. I ask a lot of questions, use analogies for teaching psychoeducational concepts and am very flexible with changing homework to best fit the client’s needs.

What you can expect from me

I love to help my clients better understand themselves so they can navigate life’s challenges in a way that feels more authentic to themselves. I use a lot of psychoeducation and problem solving throughout my sessions. I believe that once a client gets the why behind their emotional reactions and behaviors they have more power to make the changes that will lead to positive lasting change. My client’s reviews of me are that I am non-judgemental, accepting, funny, and that I make them think.”
