Great to meet you!

I'm a licensed clinical social worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts, and my main specialty is working with people facing end-of-life, terminal illness, dementia, grief, and loss. I also work with folks going through major life transitions like divorce, trauma, depression, and anxiety. Grief comes in many forms and from many catalysts, and I'm here to help with all of them. I also support caregivers navigating these incredibly difficult experiences. Grief can be so lonely and isolating, and it's not talked about enough. It takes time to process and heal. The reality is, you lose the person you love over and over throughout your life, not just the day they die. My goal is to help make death and dying less isolating and more meaningful, whether that's helping someone have a better death, figuring out plans for the people left behind, or supporting those grieving.

My approach to therapy

I'm very laid back and down to earth. I'm not one of those therapists who's going to be like "and how does that make you feel?" I make bad jokes, I have really bad puns, and I just try to meet people where they're at and treat them like human beings. You're the expert on yourself, I'm just here to help you figure out the confusing parts. My approach is all about helping you gain confidence in yourself, see qualities you maybe hadn't realized you had, and get your life more aligned with your values and what you actually want versus what others want for you or what you think you should want. Therapy with me is collaborative.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we'll talk about what's bringing you in, what you're hoping to get out of therapy, and start figuring out how I can best support you. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself, and I'll be authentic with you too. The best part of my job is when my clients don't need me anymore because they've developed the confidence and tools to navigate life on their own terms. The cool part though is that you don't ever have to be "done." You can come work with me on a problem for a couple months, then go live your life. If something happens again and you need support, come back. We can do that for however long you need.
