Great to meet you!

Welcome—I’m glad you’re here. My name is Sashauna Brown, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC, and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I provide compassionate, thoughtful mental health care to individuals across the lifespan, meeting you wherever you are in your journey.

My background includes experience in general, adolescent, and forensic psychiatry, which has shaped my ability to look at each person as a whole—not just a diagnosis. I’m trained in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and medication management, and I approach care with both clinical expertise and genuine empathy.

I believe that healing looks different for everyone. My approach is collaborative, holistic, and centered around you—your experiences, your goals, and what feels most important in your life. I commonly support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related concerns, and other mental health challenges.

Above all, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and respected. Reaching out for support can be difficult, and I want you to know you don’t have to do it alone. Whether you’re starting your mental health journey or continuing it, I’m here to walk alongside you with care and understanding.

My approach to therapy

I believe that mental health care should feel supportive, collaborative, and tailored to you. My role is not just to diagnose or prescribe, but to truly understand your experiences and work alongside you in a way that feels comfortable and meaningful.

My approach is person-centered and holistic. I take the time to get to know you as a whole person—your background, your strengths, your challenges, and your goals. Together, we create a treatment plan that fits your needs, whether that includes medication management, supportive guidance, or coordination with therapy and other resources.

I value open communication and transparency in care. I will always take the time to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and medications in a way that is clear and empowering, so you feel confident and involved in your care decisions.

Above all, I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and supported.

What you can expect from me

Starting mental health care can feel like a big step, and it’s completely normal to feel unsure or even a little nervous. My goal during our first session is to create a calm, welcoming space where you feel comfortable being yourself—there’s no pressure or judgment here.

During this initial visit, I’ll take time to get to know you. I’ll ask about what brought you in, your current concerns, your history, and what you’re hoping to gain from treatment. This is also your opportunity to ask questions and share anything you feel is important at your own pace.

Together, we’ll begin to identify your goals and discuss a plan that feels right for you.
