My name is Savanha, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, and I commend you for taking your first steps on your healing journey by searching for a compatible therapist. A little bit about myself, I received my Master's degree at DePaul University in Chicago, IL, and I am presently pursuing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from National Louis University. I address a multitude of issues in the clinical space, including trauma, women's issues, depression, and anxiety.
I am a trauma specialist passionate about providing holistic, collaborative care that addresses the root causes of symptoms, which I believe often originate in childhood. I frequently remind clients that trauma isn’t only about what happened to you, but also what didn’t happen during your formative years. I aim to collaborate with clients to create treatment plans that honor their personal goals while addressing the root of the issue(s) that brought them to therapy. Together, we identify patterns of interacting with others that no longer serve you, explore healthier ways to engage with the environment, others, and yourself, and strengthen coping strategies to help you become your fullest self.
During our first session, I will spend time getting to know you as an individual and how your history connects to your presenting concern. Then, we will collaboratively create goals to guide treatment. Overall, I am to keep our work as collaborative, holistic, and trauma-informed as possible while also ensuring we work within your worldview.
