Great to meet you!

Hello, I am excited to meet you and start the wild adventure that therapy can be. I have experience working with people of many ages from shy teenagers, to spicy adults in their 70s. I have worked with individuals, as well as couples and families. The majority of my experience was learned at a trauma recovery center. I gained skills for addressing PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, as well as exploring concepts of self, identifying other forms of trauma such as religious trauma, shame, and recognizing ways for experiencing empowerment. As a bi-sexual therapist who has lived overseas, was raised in a conservative religious house hold, I believe that I have a unique way of sitting with people in the complexities of cultural differences, trauma, faith, spirituality and sexuality.

My approach to therapy

When approaching therapy, I try to hold in mind all the pieces that make you you while helping you navigate treacherous terrain with compassionate understanding, and patience. Expect a challenge or correction in a form of a gentle nudge.

What you can expect from me

Do you feel stuck? Are you unsure of who you are? Perhaps you're wondering "why do I act this way?" or "why do I feel this way?" Maybe it's a struggle to get out of bed. Maybe completing that task is paralyzing. Your relationships are slipping away, it feels like the world is falling and you need something to hold onto. If you have an interest in therapy and don’t know where to start, have a fear that it’s not meant for you, or have a belief that “nothing will change,” please know that this is a place for you to freely express and explore yourself, your fears, and even voice your hopes.

I strive to show up with: Curiosity to create a environment for exploration and growth. Support for processing past trauma (both large and small) and finding ways to navigate life in the aftermath. Recognition of patterns of behavior that once were helpful that may now be harmful. Space for using art for expression when words fail.
