Great to meet you!

Hi! I am Savannah Williams, a clinically licensed therapist (LCPC). I work primarily with children, adolescents, and young adults. My experience is in crisis work, partial and intensive hospitalization, and private practice. I often use acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to help you identify and target negative thinking patterns and behaviors you want to change. Understanding our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions can completely change our day-to-day experience.

Together, we will create a treatment plan and goals based on where you want to see change. We will break down those goals into little steps and achieve them over time. I offer skills that can help you maintain the progress that you make during treatment and will incorporate grace and compassion throughout your journey.

The journey to unlearning and learning the lessons that your life experiences taught you is extremely hard, especially when doing it alone. Working with me, I will be sure to create a safe and judgement free space for you to grow and heal. Together, we will put in the work, effort, and support you need to achieve your goals! Remember, progress is not linear!

My approach to therapy

The foundation of all of my treatment plans is thought reframing. It is imperative to ensure your internal dialogue is working with you rather than against you. My approach is to meet you where you are and help you on the path to where you want to go by using evidence based interventions based on your current needs, future needs, and skills needed to maintain progress.

What you can expect from me

First sessions can feel uncomfortable, especially for those whose mental health journey is just beginning. However, knowing what you're walking into can help ease some of those worries! Think of our first session as a coffee chat; we'll be building rapport, setting expectations for sessions, goal setting, and laying the foundation of our therapeutic relationship. You will end the first session knowing how treatment planning works, an outline of our future sessions, and feeling as if you're on the right path.
