Dr. Scarlett Mera is a duly licensed mental health professional in Clinical Social Work and Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counseling. Fluent in both Spanish and English, she possesses over seventeen years of clinical experience across psychiatric social work, mental health crisis centers, and community outreach. Dr. Mera is the founder of CARING ROOTS with Esperanza Counseling LLC, a clinical practice primarily dedicated to providing psychotherapy to adolescents and adults, including emerging adults and veterans, addressing a wide range of psychological disorders. Her expertise includes working with Spanish-speaking and immigrant communities by conducting immigration psychological evaluations for applicants seeking special visa waiver. Additionally, she specializes in clinical supervision, mentoring, and coaching mental health professionals pursuing independent licensure, as well as offering expert consultation. Furthermore, Dr. Mera serves as a lecturer, instructing undergraduate and graduate courses in social work practice, human behavior and the social environment, clinical social work practice, and social welfare policy. She is also an established author, having published peer-reviewed articles in the Clinical Social Work Journal and the American Journal of Qualitative Research.
