Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Scarlett Mosley, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Jacksonville State University and a background in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families.

I’m passionate about helping teens and young adults navigate the messy, confusing, and sometimes overwhelming parts of life. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, friendship and peer relationship struggles, anger, difficulty managing emotions, low self-esteem, and life transitions. I also provide a supportive space to process difficult experiences and explore how the past may affect your emotions, relationships, and sense of self.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can show up as yourself, speak openly, and feel understood without fear of judgment. I believe in balancing empathy and encouragement with honest conversations and gentle redirection when a different perspective may help. Together, we can work on understanding your emotions, developing healthy coping skills, navigating relationships, and building the confidence to face life’s challenges.

Through virtual therapy, my goal is to create a comfortable, supportive environment where you can explore what you’re experiencing, recognize your strengths, and work toward meaningful change. Whether you’re feeling stuck, struggling to understand your emotions, or trying to figure out your next steps, you don’t have to have everything figured out to get started. I’m here to meet you where you are and help you move forward at your own pace.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and tailored to your unique needs and experiences. I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up as yourself, feel understood without judgment, and talk openly about the things that may be difficult to share elsewhere. I strive to create an environment that feels comfortable and genuine, where there is room for honesty, humor, vulnerability, and growth.

I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused CBT (TF-CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), and person-centered, humanistic approaches. I also incorporate practical skills to help with emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and coping with difficult situations. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work with you to find strategies that fit your needs, goals, and life experiences.

I believe compassion and accountability can go hand in hand. I’ll meet you with empathy and understanding while also offering honest feedback and gentle redirection when a different perspective may help. Therapy isn’t about changing who you are or expecting you to have everything figured out. It’s about better understanding yourself, recognizing patterns, working through difficult experiences, and building the skills and confidence to navigate life’s challenges. We’ll work together at a pace that feels right for you, focusing on progress rather than perfection.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’re not sure what to expect or where to begin. My goal is to make our first session feel comfortable, welcoming, and free of pressure to have everything figured out.

During our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other, talking about what brought you to therapy, and exploring what you hope to get out of our time together. You can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. You don’t have to know exactly what to say or have all the answers. We’ll take things at your pace.

I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, challenges, and what life has been looking like for you lately. We can begin identifying goals and discussing ways therapy might help, but there’s no expectation that we solve everything in one session. Building trust and creating a space where you feel safe being yourself are important parts of the process.

Most importantly, you can expect compassion, curiosity, and no judgment. I want you to feel comfortable being yourself, asking questions, and letting me know what you need. We may laugh, have some difficult conversations, or simply take time to sort through what’s on your mind. You don’t have to have it all figured out before you show up. We’ll start where you are and work from there.
