Great to meet you!

I know it can be hard to ask for help, particularly from a stranger. But you’ll find that I’m a nurturing and calming presence, and despite my professionalism I’m not afraid to joke and laugh with you. The relationship is central to our work.

Though all therapists have preferred methods (mine are CBT and the psychodynamic approaches), I always adapt to meet the needs of the client and consider what you will best respond to.

My areas of study are clinical counseling and forensic psychology.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Initially we'll spend some time getting to know each other and you can tell me your hopes and goals for therapy. Together we'll face your concerns and explore your strengths. I'll highlight patterns of behavior that may result in distress, and get curious about your past. Often this can reveal why we do the things we do, and be a catalyst for change.

What you can expect from our first session

One of my strengths as a therapist is my empathy - the ability to understand how you're feeling. I've found that clients respond to this with an increased confidence to open up. As they do so, they discover that I'm nurturing and non-judgmental. It creates a deeply supportive and safe place to be vulnerable.
