Great to meet you!

Hi! My name is Schavonda. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) working virtually with Texas clients. I have 5 years of experience in private practice and over 17 years in an educational setting.

When one door closes it can make you feel as if life has shut you out. I can help you unlock those doors and step into your purpose using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Solution Focused Brief Therapy. If you are experiencing grief, anxiety, depression or work or personal relationship concerns, I would love to assist with developing a treatment plan. We will work together to manage your mental health by utilizing keys to developing problem solving skills, creating goals, and set boundaries.

If you are ready to unlock those doors, I would love to support and guide you through this process.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and goal-focused. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to build on strengths and solutions already present. Together, we work to unlock new perspectives, skills, and possibilities that support meaningful and lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a warm & supportive environment. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any questions you may have. I’ll review confidentiality and how therapy work. Together, we’ll identify keys to help you unlock life's challenges and develop next steps and how therapy can best support you.
