Great to meet you!

I'm Scott, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Connecticut. I work primarily with adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, relationship stress, substance use, and the particular kind of pressure that a lot of men never quite get permission to talk about.

I don't think therapy has to be abstract or awkward — I'm direct, I take what you bring seriously, and I stay focused on what's actually going to help you move forward.

I've worked with clients at all kinds of starting points, from "I've tried everything" to "I've never done this before," and I meet you where you are.

My approach to therapy

I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing. CBT helps you identify and shift the thought patterns that are keeping you anxious, stuck, or going in circles. Motivational Interviewing is especially useful when part of you wants to change and part of you isn't sure yet — it's non-coercive and meets ambivalence with curiosity rather than pressure.

Together, these approaches give us a practical framework while leaving room for the conversations that don't fit neatly into a framework. Sessions are collaborative — you set the agenda, and I help you do something useful with it.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a conversation, not an intake form. I'll ask about what's going on, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping to get from therapy. You don't need to have it all figured out — showing up is enough.

By the end, we'll have a shared sense of what we're working on and whether this feels like a good fit. There's no pressure to commit beyond that first conversation.
