Great to meet you!

When you're constantly trying to keep everything together, it can be difficult to recognize just how much you've been carrying. Perhaps anxiety leaves your mind racing, depression makes it harder to enjoy everyday life, or family challenges have created tension in relationships that once felt supportive. You may be feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities, struggling to manage stress, or finding that painful experiences from the past continue to affect how you feel and respond today. I work with adolescents, adults, and seniors experiencing anxiety, depression, family issues, stress management, and trauma. These challenges can also overlap with substance use or addiction, bipolar disorder, anger management, or relationship difficulties, especially when emotional struggles and family dynamics begin affecting one another. With 19 years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor, I believe therapy should provide a supportive space where you feel understood, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes. Together, we can explore what's been weighing on you, build on your strengths, and develop healthier ways of coping that help you feel more confident, balanced, and connected to the people who matter most.

My approach to therapy

Our work will make room for both the person you are and the family, relationships, responsibilities, and experiences that have shaped you. We'll explore how anxiety, depression, family issues, stress management, and trauma may be affecting your emotional wellbeing, relationships, and ability to navigate everyday life. I may use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you recognize patterns in thoughts and behaviors that contribute to distress and develop healthier ways of responding. When anxiety or depression makes everyday challenges feel overwhelming, we'll work on identifying practical strategies that help you regain a sense of control and confidence. I may also draw from Solution Focused Brief Therapy to help you recognize your existing strengths, identify what's already working, and turn meaningful goals into achievable steps. We'll make space to understand how family dynamics, past experiences, and current responsibilities influence your emotions and behaviors while focusing on the changes that matter most to you. Our sessions will be collaborative, warm, and solution oriented, balancing thoughtful self-exploration with practical tools that support lasting progress.

What you can expect from me

You don't have to have everything figured out or know exactly where to begin to take the first step toward feeling better. During our first few sessions, we'll take time to understand what brought you here, what has been most difficult, and what you hope will feel different. Together, we'll establish meaningful goals that reflect your needs and experiences while identifying practical steps that feel realistic for your circumstances. You can expect me to bring warmth, honesty, and thoughtful encouragement to our conversations while creating an environment where you feel comfortable discussing difficult emotions, family challenges, stress, or painful experiences without judgment. Progress may look like feeling less overwhelmed by anxiety, reconnecting with yourself when depression feels heavy, navigating family conflict with greater confidence, developing healthier responses to everyday stress, or feeling more emotionally grounded after difficult experiences. We'll continue checking in on your goals and adjusting our work based on what feels most helpful, helping you move forward with greater emotional balance, stronger relationships, and confidence in your ability to navigate life's challenges.
