Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Orange County, California, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults and specialize in anxiety, relationship issues, substance abuse/addiction, and trauma.

My communication style is calm, accommodating, and reassuring. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment.

I decided to become a therapist because I have always wanted to help people. Whether it was as an epidemiologist working with the physically ill, mentoring high school students in relational and life decisions, or being a loyal friend, I have always naturally been drawn to helping people through difficult times. Now, as a therapist, I get to enjoy seeing people realize their full potential, heal from their pain, and identify and begin working toward a new future of hope for themselves.

My approach to therapy

I use psychodynamic, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive behavioral therapy to help my clients begin to cope with current issues, heal from past life experiences, and identify a better future for themselves. I enjoy creating a collaborative atmosphere with my clients so that we are working together as a team to progress toward those goals.

I have found that my style and approach work well with adults who may be dealing with the challenges and stresses of life transitions, past hurt from families and other relationships, or using unhealthy behaviors to cope with life. This often takes the form of anxiety, low energy, chronic feelings of numbness or hurting, fear about the future, and relying on coping such as substance abuse. I work together with my clients to help them navigate these transition periods and to build skills that allow them to feel better about themselves now, and find a future vision for themselves of satisfaction, strength, and hope.

What you can expect from me

When it comes to setting goals, I like to keep things collaborative—we’ll figure out what you want to work on together. It starts with building trust and getting comfortable in the space. From there, we’ll set goals and check in on your progress along the way.

In our first session, we’ll mostly just chat about how you’ve been feeling lately, and I’ll ask a few questions to get a better sense of what’s going on. It’s really just about getting to know each other and seeing where things might go. Everyone’s different, so I take the time to listen before jumping into anything.
