Great to meet you!

I became a therapist late in life. I spent the first part of my work career in live tv news and made the decision to change careers because I realized that my job no longer met my needs. I found that I enjoyed handling office disputes better than working on a tv show. After 9/11/01, I decided to go to graduate school and became a social worker. I have experience working in foster care, juvenile justice, divorce from high conflict personalities and the elderly.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is an integrated mix of cognitive behavior therapy, strength-based, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and short-term solution focus techniques. Laughter is also an important coping strategy that can help individuals reduce stress and anxiety.

What you can expect from me

I believe that clients are the expert in their lives and often time what is needed is to know that they have the space to talk about what they are experiencing without feeling judged.

The clinical process is not an easy path - it takes time to gain a greater awareness of ourselves. It takes even more energy to unpack wounds and develop coping strategies that help us to change.
