Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Sean S. Lee, LCSW, and I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults between the ages of 5 and 21. Throughout my career, I have dedicated my work to supporting youth and families through New Jersey’s Children’s System of Care, helping children overcome emotional, behavioral, social, and family-related challenges.

I have extensive experience providing individual therapy, intensive in-community (IIC) services, behavioral management, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed interventions. My clinical work includes helping children and adolescents manage anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioral concerns, ADHD, trauma, school-related challenges, family conflict, and life transitions.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is individualized, collaborative, and strengths-based. I believe in meeting each child exactly where they are, building a trusting relationship, and creating a safe environment where they feel heard, respected, and supported. Together, we work toward practical goals that promote confidence, resilience, emotional growth, and long-term success. Every child develops at their own pace, and my role is to guide and encourage them throughout that journey.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a welcoming, honest, and judgment-free environment. My priority is getting to know the child as a person—not just the challenges that brought them to therapy. I take time to understand their strengths, interests, concerns, and goals while helping them feel comfortable and supported. I believe that transparency, trust, and open communication are the foundation of successful therapy. Together, we’ll begin developing a plan that empowers the child to build the skills and confidence needed to achieve meaningful, lasting progress.
