Great to meet you!

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read this :)

My name is Dr. Sean Spelgatti. I am a Nationally Board Certified Counselor, PhD in Counseling, am an Approved Clinical Supervisor, and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in multiple states.

I intentionally diversified my clinical training to become a well-rounded, holistic, and multi-theory integrative therapist. I do not believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all, I prefer to thoroughly adapt to the person I am working with. I work to understand the whole person and customize treatment to your unique needs, goals, and circumstances.

My experience includes working with children, adults, couples, families, and groups in outpatient mental health. I am also a published psychological researcher with a natural mind for problem-solving, identifying patterns, and finding practical solutions.

My approach is compassionate, direct, adaptable, and thorough. I strive to see through the different layers of what is happening and help you find meaningful, realistic ways forward.

Thank you again for taking the time to read this. I would be happy to be on YOUR team :)

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is holistic, integrative, metacognitive, and highly individualized. I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I enjoy being GENUINE, and I am not the "tickle your ear" or "tell you what you want to hear" kind of therapist, I give real feedback, but I deliver it in a kind compassionate and wise way. I work to understand the whole person, look beneath the surface, identify patterns, and consider the different factors that may be contributing to what you are experiencing.

I am compassionate and supportive, but also direct, practical, and solution-focused. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, develop useful tools, and make meaningful progress in a way that fits your unique needs, personality, and goals.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a relaxed, conversational environment where we begin getting to know each other and identifying what brought you to therapy, what you have been experiencing, and what you would like to improve. I can also jump right in if you prefer a faster pace.

I will ask questions through my custom, curated intake process to better understand the different areas of your life, identify important patterns, and begin developing a clear direction for treatment. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and with a better sense of what we can work on together.
