No one is exempt from the challenges of life. You can’t be good looking enough, smart enough, or rich enough to opt out; this may be the one area in life in which we are all equal. Clearly, no one gets out of life unscathed.
Often, during times of struggle, our tendency is to distract or numb ourselves through alcohol, drugs, food, shopping, and any number of things, but if we take this route we can get stuck in it. Moreover, the very thing we used to numb and distract can lead to addiction, isolation, and exasperate our mental and physical health.
However, there is another way, a life where there may still be challenges, and you may be tested, but it is also filled with purpose, meaning, and aliveness. Heartache, loss, grief, and despair can be a portal, a doorway, a hero’s journey. However, every hero’s journey has an ally, a friend, a mentor. It would be an honor to be your therapist, ally, and mentor through your journey, so reach out I would love to talk to you.
