Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Seraphina, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based out of Ojai, CA & offering Telehealth therapy throughout California & Illinois. I work with college students, adults, and couples, and I specialize in anxiety, stress, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, and substance abuse recovery.

I have found that my approach is a great fit for college students and adults navigating life transitions, whether that be dealing with college life, a new baby, divorce, grief & loss, or sobriety. Changes in life can be rocky and confusing, and these times can manifest symptoms of anxiety, depression, loneliness & isolation, and struggles to cope with stress and uncertainty.

I became a therapist for several reasons. I’ve always been very curious about people and the human condition, and have had a natural ability to understand and help people find their way. I feel the work is incredibly authentic and meaningful. I think that mental health defines how we experience our whole life, and I enjoy helping people understand themself and be equipped to live a life they feel good being alive in.

My approach to therapy

I am an eclectic therapist, which means I tailor my approach to the unique needs of each client. Some core models I draw on include psychodynamic (looking at how our past experiences shape the present), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I find these models do a great job of solving problems in the present and providing deeper, lasting healing.

My communication style is friendly, warm, supportive, and helpful. My intention is to create an environment where you feel safe to be yourself, and open up without fear of judgment or being rushed. I like to create a good balance of holding space for you to explore and offering insights and solutions to help shift your struggles.

What you can expect from me

My intention for each session is for my clients to leave a session feeling heard, clearer, more grounded, and to walk away with actionable insights and tools. I also intend for my clients to, over time, walk away from our work together with greater self-awareness, deep healing, lasting change, and a toolkit for future challenges.
