Great to meet you!

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and/or chronic illness? Are you a therapist wrestling with your professional identity/trajectory, mental or physical health issues, or struggling with professional burnout? Are you judged/marginalized because of your body size, gender identity, sexual orientation, and/or health conditions? I'm passionate about helping marginalized clients and fellow therapists receive affirming therapy services. I’m a queer-identified, sex-positive, and body-positive therapist who provides a welcoming space for individuals of all identities, genders, and backgrounds.

I've been working full time as a licensed therapist since January 2016 in agencies and have worked simultaneously, alongside my agency work, in my private practice since February 2022.

My approach to therapy

I strive to help you believe in your inborn/innate worth, celebrate your authenticity, and find healing! The value I bring to therapy with my clients lies in who I am and where I’ve come from as much as the professional experience and training I have. I’ll use my experience as a seasoned therapist who has also endured poverty, trauma, tumult with loved ones, sexism, homophobia, fatphobia, and chronic health issues to hold in my mind and heart a painful and messier but ultimately more holistic and helpful understanding of the human experience.

What you can expect from me

Initial sessions will be focused on getting to know each other. I will be asking you a lot of questions to help build a picture of where you came from, where you are now, and where you're looking to go from here. Your identity and life experiences shape your mental health and how you relate to me, and it's important to me to understand who you are, not just what you're struggling with. I will also provide you information about me, how the therapy process works, and make sure you're fully informed and consenting to therapy services with me. Although the first 2-3 sessions are focused on information collecting and ensuring all the right paperwork is complete, I think you will find that I make that process warm, inviting, and engaging. I'm genuinely looking forward to working with you!
