Great to meet you!

Hi - I'm Seth. Many clients come to me to address relationship issues, whether in romantic, family, or other relationships. I specialize in addictions, depression, anxiety, and trauma, and have over 20 years' experience working with clients with diverse life experiences and struggles, approaching each with unconditional positive regard, authenticity, respect and acceptance.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Illinois with Master's degree in Social Work from University of Michigan.

My approach to therapy

I take a person-centered, strengths-based approach, using (1) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to explore and improve the relationships between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors; (2) mindfulness-based therapy to better understand personal motivations, disengage from unhelpful behaviors, and engage in more effective behaviors; and (3) Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to notice the often destructive impact of "black and white" thinking and lean into the "gray."

What you can expect from me

Our first session is my opportunity to get to know you: who you are, what's important to you, and what you'd like to get out of therapy. It's also an opportunity for you to get to know my style as a therapist and decide whether it's a good fit for your needs and goals. Each session can be a combination of a regular check-in, an opportunity to process personal struggles, psycho-education on relevant topics, and counseling/coaching as desired. My job is to support you in working toward your goals.
