Great to meet you!

I'm Seth Showalter, the Therapist, Author, and Founder of Authentic Therapy. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I wear a few hats, including running my own practice and writing to share insights and strategies that can help others grow. My educational journey started with a Bachelor's in Social Work from the University of Missouri-Columbia, followed by a Master's in Social Work from Missouri State University, and then a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Webster University.

My approach to therapy

In my sessions, authenticity reigns supreme. I respect and value each person's individuality, encouraging them to embrace both their strengths and areas for improvement. Together, we undertake a collaborative exploration to identify and implement the changes they aspire to achieve. With a wealth of experience in the mental health field, I foster a growth-oriented and educational atmosphere, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care to every client.

What you can expect from me

In my view, therapy is a partnership. We will collaborate as a cohesive team, striving to help you become the individual you aspire to be and to construct the life you yearn to live. We’ll explore into recent experiences, unearth past traumas, acquire new skills, and commence taking steps towards the life you envision. Together, we’ll craft a practical plan after each session—something real you can use to make life better right away.
