Great to meet you!

Shadai Brinchfield is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Life Coach who is passionate about helping individuals and couples heal, grow, and thrive. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Integrative Studies from the University of North Texas, and her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Texas Wesleyan University. She offers trauma-informed, compassionate care for high-functioning Black women, individuals navigating anxiety and depression, couples, and families. She is trained in EMDR and also has experience in crisis intervention and family therapy, meeting clients exactly where they are with empathy and intention. When she’s not supporting her clients, Shadai enjoys reading, scrapbooking, and learning new things because growth doesn’t stop at the therapy room. Her mission is simple: to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered on your journey to healing day by day.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is rooted in a person-centered and solution-focused perspective, where I prioritize creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space for clients to feel truly seen and heard. I believe that each client is the expert of their own life, and I work collaboratively to build on their existing strengths and resilience. Rather than focusing solely on problems, I help clients identify what’s already working, clarify their goals, and take practical, meaningful steps toward the life they want. Through empathy, authenticity, and gentle guidance, I support clients in gaining insight, building confidence, and creating lasting, positive change.

What you can expect from me

In your first therapy session, you can expect a welcoming, relaxed space where we begin getting to know you and what brings you in. We’ll talk about your current concerns, what you’d like support with, and any goals you may already have in mind. I’ll ask some questions about your background, experiences, and strengths to better understand the full picture of who you are, not just the challenges you’re facing.
