Great to meet you!

(If you require an evening time slot /an alternative time or day, please reach out to [email protected])

Hi, I’m Shahnoor, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering decolonized, deeply insightful, trauma informed therapy for people who are ready to understand themselves more deeply, create meaningful change, and break out of a survival pattern.

My work goes beyond simply managing symptoms. Together, we explore the patterns, protective responses, inner child wounds, relationship dynamics, and inherited beliefs that may be shaping your life beneath the surface. Through deep insight, compassionate shadow work, and honest self exploration, we make space for the parts of you that have been silenced, abandoned, or forced to survive.

My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in the understanding that healing does not happen in isolation from identity, family, culture, power, or lived experience. Therapy with me is a space to untangle what belongs to you from what was imposed upon you, reconnect with your authentic self, and move through old wounds with greater clarity, self trust, and intention.

Therapy with me is not about fixing you. You are not broken. It is about meeting yourself more fully, understanding the wisdom beneath your defenses, and transforming the wounds and patterns that keep you disconnected from your power. Together, we can uncover the roots, honor the ways you learned to survive, and build a life that feels more aligned, liberated, and fully your own.

My approach to therapy

My therapy style is structured yet flexible, blending the warmth and compassion of a supportive guide with the accountability of a life coach. If you're looking for an active, goal oriented approach, I will challenge and encourage you at a pace that feels right for you. Each session, I'll provide options based on your mental health concerns, helping you focus on what feels most relevant in the moment.

I often assign tailored homework ranging from writing, worksheets, and behavioral experiments to reflection exercises, art, reading, and real world activities; all designed to align with your personal goals. Whether you want to overcome your traumas, reconnect with your inner child, pursue your goals through a structured plan, transition careers, or explore your identity, we will create actionable steps to support your growth.

However, if you prefer a more open ended, feelings based, and exploratory space, I am here to meet you where you are. I can offer a compassionate, non-judgmental ear, providing thoughtful feedback and insights WITHOUT a focus on structured solutions.

Ultimately, this is your journey, and we will shape our work together in a way that best supports you :)

What you can expect from me

In the first session, clients should expect to go over their concerns, symptoms, personal/medical history, and goals. Our first session will also include expectations, policies, and informed consent.

In future sessions, my clients should expect therapy to not always be comfortable. Expect to experience a range of emotions, including grief, frustration, joy, anger, resentment, and peace. Growth often requires deep inner work, which can bring up difficult feelings before things begin to improve.

This process isn’t about chasing "good" feelings; it’s about building emotional resilience, understanding yourself on a deeper level, and learning to navigate life with more confidence and ease. While the journey may feel challenging at times, you won’t go through it alone. I will be here to support you every step of the way, helping you develop the tools to trust yourself and regulate your emotions more effectively.
